About the Authors

Nadine Ehlers teaches sociology at the University of Sydney. Her research broadly focuses on the sociocultural study of the body, law, and biomedicine to examine racial and gendered governance. She is author of Racial Imperatives: Discipline, Performativity, and Struggles against Subjection and coeditor of Subprime Health: Debt and Race in U.S. Medicine (Minnesota, 2017).

Shiloh Krupar is a geographer and Provost’s Distinguished Associate Professor at Georgetown University, where she chairs the Culture and Politics program in the School of Foreign Service. Her research explores militarism and nuclear natures, urban cultural politics in China, environmental and financial disasters, and medical geographies of waste. She is author of Hot Spotter’s Report: Military Fables of Toxic Waste (Minnesota, 2013).
