Heather Anne Swanson

Heather Anne Swanson is Associate Professor of Anthropology at Aarhus University, where she also co-directs the university’s Centre for Environmental Humanities. For decades, Swanson has been intensely curious about Pacific salmon, especially and intersection of salmon and human worlds in Japan and the United States. Over time, these curiosities have led her to pursue questions about a wide range of topics related to environmental management, transportation infrastructures, practices of comparison, and social science approaches to studying more-than-human landscapes. She is a co-editor of Domestication Gone Wild: Politics and Practices of Multispecies Relations and Arts of Living on a Damaged Planet.
