A new archaeological approach to Paleolithic flintknapping of stone tool technology focused on the quantitative demonstration of spatial and temporal variability in etically-observable behaviors that isolates units of analysis amenable to the data structure of cultural transmission theory and facilitates models that incorporate more realistic testing of Paleolithic data.
