Flyleaf with shelfmarks/pressmark, MS Harley 5943

Flyleaf with layers of shelfmarks/pressmarks in John Bagford's album of binding scraps, British Library, MS Harley 5942. These marks show that this volume was part of Harley's library before it was absorbed into the British Museum in 1753; thus it is likely Bagford assembled it himself. A later note written by librarians Richard Garnett and W. Y. Fletcher indicates which printed fragments were removed from this volume and sent to the Department of Printed Books on January 10, 1891.
