Flyleaf with shelfmarks/pressmarks, MS Harley 5949

Photograph of the flyleaf in one of John Bagford's assembled albums of scraps showing layered shelfmarks
Flyleaf with layers of shelfmarks in John Bagford's album of scraps, British Library, MS Harley 5949. These marks show that this volume was part of Harley's library before it was absorbed into the British Museum in 1753; thus it is likely Bagford assembled it himself. Two laters notes indicate removals: first, of prints for the Print Room in 1814, then of manuscript fragments for the Department of Manuscripts in 1891.
