Cover of The Experimenter 1, no. 4 (November 1924)

Full description
In red type the masthead features above a full-bleed image of man sitting intently on a folding chair. He's taking notes with pen on pad, seemingly based on information he's receiving through his headphones. They are connected by wire to a small, battery powered machine at the head of a rod that seems to have some kind of sensors within it and which has been pounded into the ground. A cross-section of the landscape shows a small stream of water running a few feet below the rod, and the caption reads, “How to Make an Electric Water Finder.”
