Cover of Amazing Stories 1, no. 7 (October 1926)

Full description
In large yellow type the masthead wraps around the depiction of a mountainous alien landscape. Against a blue sky, with green fields fading to snow-covered peaks in the background, stands a man with his clothing in tatters, his silver rocket ship grounded not far from him. He is in the company of two insect creatures, much like a cockroach or lobster, standing erect. They are much taller than he, but the one nearest him seems to be engaging him peacefully, with six arms outstretched in greeting. The issue advertises stories by H. G. Wells, Jules Verne, and Garrett P. Serviss.
