Cover of Radio News 8, no. 3 (September 1926)

Full description
In white type against a red background, the masthead features among a full-bleed water-color image of two men in the woods in front of a dilapidated shack. Both men appear to be homeless with clothing well used, patched, and torn. One is sitting against a large log, reading an issue of Radio News, while the other is dancing. Both seem happy and jocular. In the foreground on a stump is a radio, framed in wood, and made from whatever was readily available. A wire from the radio trails into an open can of soup, which sits just to the side of a fire. The indication is that the radio is providing entertainment as these two wait for their dinner to finish cooking. The caption reads, “A ‘Bum’ Radio.”
