Cover of Science and Invention 8, no. 6 (October 1920)

Full description
In white type, the masthead features above an apocalyptic scene in water-color: In a red sky we have both the sun and moon, the sun in the background. Despite this, the moon, which features prominently in the foreground, is nearly eclipsed. Below a tidal wave towers above an exploding volcano as the wave crashes toward the shore. A band of people are running from both in a great deal of distress. The caption reads, “Science Explains the Great Flood.”
