Cover of Science and Invention 9, no. 12 (April 1922)
Full description
In red type, the masthead features above three men, each dressed in suit and tie. The man in the foreground is kneeling down, directing a red wand, which is connected to a machine at his feet, to an open safe. In his other hand he is holding a different wand up to his nose, with the suggestion that he is being provided an output he can smell from the machine. The two men in the background are observing him intently and with a mild look of incredulity. The caption reads, “The Super Nose” and the issue banner announces that this is a “Special Radio Issue.” In a red circle off to the right side is an announcement of a “Radio Prize Contest” that will award three hundred dollars for “The Simplest Radio Outfit.”
