About the Author

Sharad Chari is associate professor in the Department of Geography and affiliate in Critical Theory, Rhetoric, and Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of California, Berkeley; a member of the Marxist Institute for Research; research affiliate at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research, Johannesburg; and fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute of Adanced Studies. He is author of Apartheid Remains and Fraternal Capital, and co-editor of Ethnographies of Power, Other Geographies, and The Development Reader.
