Acknowledgments

Over coffee one morning, my partner Katherine suggested that I “write something about the future,” after years of humoring my affection for sometimes questionable media. Our conversations continue, and I thank her for all of her support and encouragement. A few years previous, Jonathan Alexander and Rob Latham invited me to participate in a series of workshops on California and science fiction, which served as a spur for getting back to fiction, and I am grateful to them and other workshop participants for their spirited engagement. Most of all, I am grateful to Felix and Iggy for the future they’ll bring into being through curiosity and cleverness.
