About the Authors

Daniel Bertrand Monk is professor of geography and Middle Eastern studies at Colgate University, where he holds the George R. and Myra T. Cooley Chair in Peace and Conflict Studies. His books include An Aesthetic Occupation: The Immediacy of Architecture and the Palestine Conflict.

Andrew Herscher is associate professor of architecture at the University of Michigan. His books include Violence Taking Place: The Architecture of the Kosovo Conflict.
