Cover of Amazing Stories 1, no. 3 (June 1926)
Full description
In large white type the masthead wraps around the neck and head of a towering green sea monster, resembling a plesiosaur, that has surfaced beneath an angry blue sea. It's snarling at a nearby raft, occupying the foreground, on which there are three people in distress. In the lower right a snapping turtle looks on with ill intent. The issue advertises stories by H. G. Wells, Jules Verne, and Ellis Parker Butler.
