A simulation-based analysis of the origin of cultural coherence focused on the spread of religious patterns specific to rice-growing regions in southern Bali, demonstrating how a gradual process of individuals with different cultural variants can influence each other by variation in harvest success to yield coherence, especially when communication occurs infrequently.
