Full description

In this track, we first hear the wave of the spring migration; then, Bobolinks, Sparrows, Warblers, Vireos, Swallows, and Swifts drawing the boundaries of their territories with invisible threads of sound. The ecstatic songs the Wren, the Thrush, and, finally, the New World Ruddy Pigeon—Patagioenas subvinacea —searching for its missing kin and sounding its passing and passing out of the world forever close the track.

In addition to sounds we collected ourselves, this track was inspired and/or composed using parts of the following audio files first published on XenoCanto.org, all of which are associated with a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, unless otherwise noted. Our composition involved the excerpting, remixing, and transformation of the original files. We are deeply grateful to the recordists for sharing their work, but we alone bear responsibility for all changes to their original files.
