P. David Marshall holds a personal chair in New Media, Communication, and Cultural Studies at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. He is also Distinguished Visiting Foreign Expert in the School of Journalism and Communication at Central China Normal University in Wuhan, China. He has published many books, including Celebrity and Power (Minnesota, 2014), A Companion to Celebrity, and New Media Cultures, along with the forthcoming Contemporary Publics, Advertising, and Promotional Culture: Case Histories and Persona Studies.
